Another month has passed and it’s time to look at things that have been my faves in September.
Mum’s 50th Birthday Surprise. If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen that I arranged a HUGE surprise for my mum on her 50th Birthday, and that was getting her sister from America to fly over. The thing that made this surprise so special was that they had NEVER met before. Long story short, they both have the same dad which they both also had never met. He died when my mum was 6 years old and her sister was 18 months old so neither of them have any memories of him as their dad, just photos. They found each other a few years ago on Facebook and had spoke via Skype but never physically met. When I started organizing mum’s party, I saw this as an opportunity to see if her sister would like to come and when she agreed I was so excited but had to keep it a secret for almost a year!! It was an emotional moment but something I am so glad I did, and hopefully now this will be the start of a new family bond.
Crown Cakery. This is another Mum’s 50th birthday related favourite. I had followed Crown Cakery on Instagram for a while so when the opportunity to have a cake made by her came about, I was buzzing! The cake I had made was a two-tier chocolate, rose-gold drip cake with macaroons, meringue drops and Galaxy chunks decorating it. It was SO heavy but so delicious!
Bates Motel. I had been searching for a new Netflix series since Love Island finished and was having no such luck until I came across Bates Motel. I love a dark drama, and when I get hooked – I GET HOOKED! To the point where I want to cancel all my other plans and just curl up on the sofa and binge watch – that is kind of where I am at right now.
Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash. I have been having quite bad breakouts again recently, and my skin has felt oily and YUCK! So I decided I needed to find a new face wash and came across this one by Neutrogena. It has really helped my skin feel cleaner and clearer from spots and it is really refreshing! It hasn’t dried my skin out at all, unlike most cleansers, and has a really nice fragrance of grapefruit…obvs!
So that concludes my September faves, what are yours?
Thanks for reading.
