REVIEW | September Birchbox

So we’ve reached September and now Summer is well and truly over. How quickly has this year gone? But at least it is now appropriate to start getting excited for Halloween and Christmas…WAHOO!

I was sad to see that this month’s Birchbox did not have an Autumnal theme but it is based around embracing a fresh start and making changes. Here is what I got in this month’s box –

Benefit Box O’Powder in Gold Rush. Everyone who is signed up to Birchbox would have received a sample sized blush from Benefit and had a choice of two shades, I picked Gold Rush. I am not a huge fan of the pink toned blushes so thought it made more sense to go for a more golden tone. I like trying Benefit products because it is such a well known brand, although I don’t own much of it myself. This product is great, it does exactly what it says and also smells really nice too!

Eyeko Brow Liner. Admittedly I haven’t actually tried this product yet because I have only just had my eyebrows waxed and tinted so haven’t felt the need to fill them in yet. But from other reviews I have read, it doesn’t seem to have the effect that people would like.

Marcelle Anti-Pollution Day & Night Moisturiser. This is a hypo-allergenic, fragrance free moisturiser which can be applied morning and night. Personally I didn’t feel that it was that great at moisturising my skin, however, it does actually work as a good makeup base. The sample is quite small but lasted long enough to put to the test.

NUXE Huile Prodigieuse (Multi-Usage Dry Oil Shimmer). If you are after a subtle shimmer this oil is for you. It leaves your face, body and hair feeling soft and silky and better yet, it leaves little microscopic flecks of golden shimmer delivering a subtle glow – perfect to set off your part look!

Klorane Conditioner with Mango Butter. The central heating is slowly coming back on which means one thing for me – dry hair! But, with the help of this little bottle of mango-infused conditioner, my hair feels nourished! I love they way it moisturizes and de-tangles my hair, improving its softness and shine!

Overall, Septembers box is pretty good because it has a nice mixture of products and also gave me the chance to try different products. The products that stood out to me most were the Benefit Blusher and the NUXE Oil. The only fault I would give Birchbox is that it would be nice to always include a full sized product just to ensure we get the best value for money.

Thanks for reading.

Aw man you got such good products! I would definitely say the eyebrow pen isn’t that worth it, it’s very felt tip like for eyebrows and gives off a bad effect, thanks for a fab review!
