Things to Do With Your Dog This Summer

Summer is here! The warm weather and the smell of freshly cut grass, it is the best time of year to stay more active and get outdoors. That goes for our dogs too!

Staying at home while the sun is shining is no fun, so before the boredom takes the day away, try some of these dog-friendly summer activities.

Take your dog to the beach. The beach is probably one of the first places you’d think of visiting with your dog. Dogs love the sandy beaches, the cool waters, and the warm breeze as much as we do. You can take your furry companion to the beach and let them enjoy digging, swimming and relaxing. A day on the beach is supposed to be fun and not a disaster, so before you head out make sure you take your dog’s collaer, lead and poo bags for those toilet breaks. If your dog is going for a swim, don’t let them get away too far. Keep an eye on your dog at all times and never leave them alone.

Make some frozen treats. Summer can get hot (most of the time). One of the best ways to cool down is a frozen treat. You can mix up all your dogs favourites with watermelons, bananas and strawberries or yoghurt, peanut butter and honey!

Stroll around the park. Being a dog owner, walking your dog should already be part of your routine. But when the weather isn’t nice, you might spend less time or even miss a day of walkies. So, when the Summer comes, take advantage of it! The warm weather allows your dog to walk at ease and socialise with other dogs around the park. However, during high temperatures, avoid peak times of the day and aim to walk your dog in the morning and evening.

Have a quick dip in the pool. Set up an inflatable pool at home and let your furbaby enjoy splashing about! Nothing feels better than a quick dip in the pool.

Play fetch in the garden. Dogs love playing fetch. It is a simple activity and can be a good exercise to keep your dog active, healthy and agile.

What do you enjoying doing with your dog in the Summer?

Thanks for reading.
